You know, I'm quite disappointed that robots from the future haven't traveled back in time to try to kill me yet.

At least the evil robots haven't come back in time to protect you, either.

In my case, all they sent back was an accountant. I'm not sure whether to be pleased or insulted.

Well, had you invested the money that you've lavished on LJ fees, kenshi-2238 would be quadrazillionare by then.

Actually, now that you mention it, the robo-accountant did say something to that effect when he showed up at my door with the laser pointer.

Oh, great. Now you come. I just lent my shotgun to Boy Scout Troup 600 for the skeet shoot this weekend. All I've got to do battle is pile of dirty laundry and my roommate's flatulent labrador retriever, Chip.

Wait, why am I telling you this! Do your worst! Your Mamma was DustBuster, and your Daddy was a Cue Cat!

how do you know they haven't? Maybe their battery died. Maybe their computer had a Y2K effect :P. Maybe they mistook the woodchipper for the door you were behind.

True. I guess I was expecting greater reliability from robots who can travel back in time. Now I find out they're running Windows 3000.

Yes we have, but you weren't home when we called, so we went to Chuck E Cheese.

I think the robots of the future need a better "work ethic".

"Work Ethic"? Oh yes, that antiquated notion - it was eliminated in the great War of 2489.

I'm not that specific. I'm still just disappointed in the fact that I don't have an arch-nemesis. And the fact that I have a Piglet PEZ dispenser is small consolation.

Ah, but would you know if you had an arch-nemesis? Maybe all the good in life you've experienced to date is simply the canvas upon which she will paint the hell of your life to come...

Better to just block the thought with another sweet, sweet, sugar cartridge sucked from Piglet's neck...

About the mysterious deaths of Crash96? Chrasch? Cruscher? And Crazch? Probably just a coincidence. Nothing to worry about. I'm sure many hundreds of similarly monikered LJers have their heads spontaneously crushed by a cybernetic organism with an Austrian accent all the time. Just a statistical anomaly.
*boom, boom*
Well, sombody seems to be at your front door, Crasch, I'll be letting you go...

why be disappointed?

Cheer up. Maybe the robots DID kill you, and you ARE dead *right this minute*. But like Bruce Willis in The Sixth Sense, you haven't put two-and-two together yet.

Once you do, you'll reinterpret every experience you've had with the world lately in that light, and conclude you are--actually--a ghost. And you'll be able to see who it was who "killed" you.

Most likely, it was a *female* robot from the future.
