Any recommendations for a source of good quality dress shirt/pants? I’m looking for black dress pants and a white dress shirt. Local (SF Bay Area) sources preferred, but mail order suggestions also welcome. Thanks for any suggestions!

Men's Warehouse should work in a pinch... even for rentals if it's a temporary thing.

i freakin' hate the all-cotton shtick that's been en vogue for ten years. i travel a ton, and for the life of me i can't keep cotton shirts from wrinkling all up. even those anti-wrinkle ones.

i much prefer cotton blends.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of anything that requires regular ironing. I found some Dockers made with microfibers a few years ago that never require ironing, and look great. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find them again.

There was a clothing store in Las Vegas that sold almost nothing but black and whites for all of the casino workers. Can't remember the name of it even though I gave them my business from time to time. Big help, huh?

I like Zara for men. They tend to be a european cut and run small.

Have you tried a local men's consignment store or even a thrift store in a richer part of your town? The local Vietnam Vets Thrift carries Banana Republic, Gap, J. Crew, and other high end clothes for little money. The downside is being able to be at the stores at the right time to find something in your size, etc.

In a pinch, a Burlington Coat Factory is your friend.

YMMV,

Vivian

You can go cheaper, but you can't go wrong with Nordstrom or Brooks Brothers.

Yes, the proximate motivation was Kit's wedding.
