That's pretty amazing...definitely a case in which you really can't make assumptions about people's lives based on the degree to which they seem "normal" or not. (And aside from the atypical body configuration, these girls DO seem really normal)

I remember seeing these kids on Oprah quite a few years ago and wondering how they'd turn out. Looks like they're just fine, which is very cool :)

Yes, I agree. I hope they continue to allow themselves to be filmed, as I think their lives will be quite fascinating.

That is really interesting.

Unfortunately watching that clip sent me on a couple hours worth of looking up and reading about conjoined twins, in hopes of finding something substantial about the psychological development as they become adults.
Because you know...when I've got a macroeconomics midterm tomorrow, the psychological state of conjoined twins is of utmost importance.

I have priority issues.

Heh. Sorry about that. :> Hope the midterm went okay, nonetheless.

I wonder if one of them is psychic like Kuato from Total Recall.

Yes, but only about the questions people have in the first 5 minutes of meeting them.

I love them. I'd been holding onto an old Life magazine article about them from when they were six or so, and I was delighted to find video. They are amazingly well adjusted, even for a normal teen at that age. Somebody pointed out that the girls themselves are completely used to how they are -- they know no other way -- and it's other people who have to do the adjusting.

Everytime I see them it sends my brain into a tailspin thinking about what it means to be an individual.

Yes, they seem remarkably healthy and well-adjusted. I feel sorry for their kids though--they ain't getting away with nothing!
