03:02 pm - Abolish the Fed

Previous Entry Share Next Entry

Dear Friend of CSI,

Next Wednesday at 7:00 (note the unusual start time):

The pre-eminent scholar Lawrence White will explain what it would mean
to have a free market in money and banking. Freedom in this realm would
entail the ending of government monopoly money, and hence the abolition
of the Fed.

Profession White is a leading theorist and historian of free banking.
The historical experiences of free banking - in Scotland, in Sweden, and
in Canada - show that laissez-faire money and banking work well. With
modern technology they would work even better. America has never had a
free market in money and banking.

Attached here, Professor White's handout provides a careful treatment
of the issue. If you plan to attend the lecture, I encourage you to
look through the notes in advance.

Also attached is the flier for the event.

Hope to see you there.

Best regards,

Dan Klein
